PowerBack Rehabilitation, Lombard Street

Philadelphia, PA (April 15, 2020) – PowerBack Rehabilitation, a short-term, post-hospital rehabilitation facility located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, today announced it has converted to a partial coronavirus (COVID-19) post-acute care center in order to assist hospitals in expanding capacity during this unprecedented crisis.

As the COVID-19 pandemic expands exponentially in Pennsylvania, PowerBack Rehabilitation is poised to assist hospitals who are inundated with COVID-19 patients.  PowerBack is responding to the Public Health Emergency in Pennsylvania due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Center is in communication with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and partner hospitals to ensure a smooth transition.

PowerBack Rehabilitation has begun to admit patients to the second floor of its Lombard Street location, which is currently empty, as a starting point.

“PowerBack Rehabilitation is pleased to assist Philadelphia hospitals with managing the surge of COVID-19 patients they are experiencing,” states Dr, Richard Feifer, Chief Medical Officer. “At this time, local hospitals have dozens of stable COVID-19 patients, but have been unable to discharge them to post-acute rehabilitation facilities for the duration of the virus.  PowerBack Rehabilitation will be key in helping them to open up needed hospital beds as the pandemic continues to expand in our community and state.”
